VANDALISM STRIKES BOTH SIDES OF MARIJUANA ISSUE

What Does Vandalism Say About Supporters of Measure G and H?

Maybe Something. Maybe Nothing.

Backers of No on G and H Donated Money and Purchased Hundreds of
Signs. Signs Were Placed Throughout the County. Signs Have Been
Stolen, Vandalized and Burned. Private Property Has Been Trespassed.

This Is Criminal Vandalism, but There Is a More Sinister Message
Here. Destroying These "No on G and H" Signs Is a Slap in the Face to
Every Butte County Voter WHO Respects and Participates in the Election Process.

Does This Sound a Little Like Shari Sommers' Recent Letter? It
Should. Because Both Sides Have the Same Story to Tell. Disturbing,
Disrespectful Behavior Affecting Proponents and Opponents Alike.
Where We Diverge Is in the Leap to Judgment. We Don'T Know WHO
Removed Our "No on G and H" Signs. What We Do Not Immediately Presume
Is That They Are Members of Any Specific Group That Endorses G and H.
We'Ll Leave That Kind of Unsupported Slander to Sommers.

It'S a Shameful Distraction to Cast Aspersions on the Character of
People You Don'T Know. I Agree, Vandals WHO Steal and Deface Election
Signs Are Sending a Message, a Message That There Are Jackasses Among
US on Both Sides of This Issue.

So, Yes. Send Those Vandals a Message. Tell Them We Are Unaffected by
Their Bad Behavior. Make Your Voting Decisions Based on Facts Not
Rhetoric. or Signs.
