IT'S TIME TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA

Re: 'Health concerns' cited for pot shop raids - May 28

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould,
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, and Toronto Mayor John Tory: Please
help stop the reefer madness police state in Toronto. Legalizing
marijuana today and eliminating all criminal records for marijuana
possession would be a start.

I was able to purchase and smoke marijuana/hash in Amsterdam 1969. It
is hard for me to believe that, 46 years later, we are wasting tax
dollars on any kind of enforcement -especially knowing legalization is coming.

Please include people who understand marijuana culture in your
various committees. Enforcement experts may not be the right leaders
for legalization of marijuana.

We should have spent that enforcement money on ride checks. Alcohol
is the most dangerous drug in the world - a real health issue. Every
day there are alcohol-related accidents, injuries and death. There
are still a lot of drunks on the road.

Police using battering rams, kicking in doors, handcuffing store
clerks, guns drawn, etc. must stop. Enforcing antiquated marijuana
laws didn't make sense in the 1960s and definitely doesn't make sense in 2016.

Awaiting your reply.
