POT CLUBS WOULD BRING MORE SERENITY

Re: "Decriminalization of pot nixed," June 14.

Jody Wilson-Raybould, the federal justice minister and attorney
general, would rather give criminal records and punishments to those
who smoke pot before it is officially legalized. Her reasons for this
are not valid.

Imagine if Victoria downtown had more pot clubs than booze clubs.
Imagine the decrease in violence, noise and criminal activity. Those
leaving the pot clubs would be heading down to their local eatery for
some munchies.

I would much rather run into a person high on pot than one on high on
alcohol or harddrugs. Let's get real here and move on. People who
smoke pot are not criminals.
