POT WORRIES

I have no problem with legalizing marijuana, in fact I have felt most of
my life that the government missed the boat on the profits of it, and that
smoking it is safer then alcohol. Reason being is that you can only get so
"high" and even if you chain smoked it, you don't get higher, just
probably a headache from too much smoke. I don't believe there will be a
huge new crowd of smokers, weed has always been there, and very easy to
find. Drinking too much though, can lead to severe intoxication,
blackouts, loss of motor skills and even death from alcohol poisoning.
However, where I can see a disturbing problem is with edibles. From my
experience, this is a much different buzz, and can get much stronger if
consumption is continuous. First time I ate a tasty chocolate chip cookie,
an hour later I had a three-hour nap on the couch, not my intention, being
I was at a friend's house for a fun Friday night. I have been a casual
smoker for 37 years, and that's how it affected me, I ! can only imagine
how much stronger it would affect a non-smoker. Making these edibles
looking like candy, ie: gummy bears, is scary. If a seven-, eight-,
nine-year old found a bag with a bit of weed in it, I don't think they
would be very interested, but a bag of gummy bears? Nightmare material.
