Re: Safe injection sites get shot in the arm, Jan. 5

The "fix" is in, which is apropos as far as the status of the
controlled-injection site for the capital. I see that His Worship is
caving already by conveniently passing the buck to the all-knowing and
supreme public health board, which has been in favour of this from the
start.

Mayor Jim Watson is abdicating his civic responsibility to the taxpaying
folks of this city, of which many are opposed to this dicey endeavour.

Funny how politicians get tossed around by the prevailing progressive
political winds. I'm sure residents around the area of Rideau and Nelson
streets, especially those with kids, are tickled pink by this stand.

Political office is not forever, let's hope Ottawa residents remember this
come election time.
