POT PROBLEMS Re "Feds too chilled out" (Mark Bonokoski, Sept. 12): This government is either asleep at the wheel or the blinders are fully engaged where legalized marijuana is concerned. Aside from the tide of problems about to hit our parents and law enforcement, the PM has been mute on the health concerns associated with regular pot use and focused strictly on distribution and timing for this legislation. Pandering to our youth in exchange for votes was a great strategy, but dealing with the burnouts from this election promise will introduce an entirely different challenge. I certainly hope our PM will sit down with his young son and have this discussion with him, before introducing him to pot, but then again, he will have 16 years to prepare. Alain Fournier Brampton (We doubt the PM, or any responsible parent, introduces their child to pot. They have an honest discussion with them about its use, important regardless of what the laws on marijuana consumption are.) - --- MAP posted-by: Matt
