Re: Terry Parker's medical marijuana court victory (Judgment
hailed as 'major step forward', Dec. 12). Here's a prediction.
For a while - at least until the case is appealed by the Crown -
medical marijuana will be legal in Ontario. The sky will not fall.

Airline pilots will not rush to intoxicate themselves before
climbing into the cockpit. Adolescents will not take up pot
smoking in greater numbers. Hospitals will not fill up with
marijuana addicts.

Doctors will not write thousands of false prescriptions for
legions of cannabis-addled hippies.

And, if Parliament goes further and actually legalizes the demon 
weed? Well, I don't know ... but that sky looks pretty sturdy to 
me.
