International AntiDrugs Swoop Nets 123 People BRUSSELS, Belgium (Reuter) A combined operation against drug tourism by Belgian, French and Dutch police resulted in 123 arrests and the seizure of quantities of narcotics, Belgian police said Saturday. A total of 2,500 police from the three neigbouring nations were involved in the overnight operation codenamed ``No Way Out.'' During checks of 22,000 people and 12,000 vehicles they seized nearly nine pounds of cannabis, 11 ounces of heroin, more than 600 Ecstasy pills, nearly an ounce of cocaine, nealy two ounces of amphetamines and five firearms. France, Belgium and the Netherlands have frequently argued over the liberal Dutch policy on soft drugs, and there are frequent spot checks on the highways across northern Belgium between the Netherlands and France.
