It's interesting to see narcotics officers admit that the war on drugs
is unwinnable. It takes courage to own up to this, especially when
your income is derived from the fight. It's more interesting that your
article can be construed as a call for increased budgeting for the
war. If the federal government decided that we should put our money
into overcoming gravity, just how much would we have to spend? The
efforts are analogous.
