Contact: 'DATE RAPE' DRUG TO BE DYED

A PHARMACEUTICAL company has won approval to put a dye in the drug
Rohypnol, a previously colourless sleeping drug that has been used by men
to spike women's drinks, leaving them helpless against sexual advances.

Roche, the Swiss-based manufacturer, has developed a new version of the
drug that turns an intense blue when the tablet is dissolved in liquid. The
company's formulation has been granted approval in Britain by the Medicines
Control Agency.
