WAR ON DRUGS GOES ON

Can anyone remember why marijuana is illegal? Something about how it
destroys ambition or performance or something? That this is untrue has
again been demonstrated by snowboarder Ross Rebagliati winning the Olympic
gold, and then having the Olympic committee attempting to take it away for
finding traces of marijuana in his system.

When President Nixon initiated the present War on Drugs, his own surgeon
general and his own commission on marijuaan both recommended legalization.
The war goes on, because it jails unpopular elements of society, at
enormous taxpayer expense.
