A PROHIBITED DEFENSE

Re "Los Angeles Drug Case Bars Medical Marijuana Defense" (news
article, Nov. 7):

The ruling by Judge George H. King of Federal District Court
prohibiting Peter McWilliams and Todd McCormick from citing
Proposition 215, a California measure that allows patients to smoke
marijuana with a doctor's recommendation, in their defense against
charges of illegal drug use goes against the will of the California
voters. I wonder, what will it take for the government to admit it was
wrong and get out of the affairs of the states?
