ALL TOO PREVENTABLE Killings by police are becoming much too frequent. Training is required for all, from the chief down to the officer on the beat. Police should not be Gestapo agents. Charging into homes is not the American way. A little more investigation would have prevented this. We currently have the equipment to listen through walls and tap telephones. Yes, this is slower, but the results are much better for all concerned. Now officer Alan Hill has to live with his actions. That will not be easy -- ask any cop who has been involved in a shootout.
