A BENEFICIAL EFFECT

Carol M. Ostrom's article on the Seattle police bust in David Means'
apartment will have a beneficial effect if it leads to open debate on
the law concerning possession of marijuana and clarification of that
law for the police and for legal users of marijuana.

But there should be more. There should also be open and public
discussion of the police treatment of Means and of the extensive and
purposeful damage done by the police.

It was an informative article, well-written. Let's hope it does some
good.
