Kuhn CANADA MAY BE GOING TO POT In regard to your June 10 Asides "Canada Shows the Way": You're right. Canada is showing the way--on more than just taxes. In April, for example, the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police came out in favor of decriminalizing minor marijuana offenses. In May, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said they "fully support" the chiefs' position. Then, Canada's House of Commons passed (by an overwhelming 204-20 margin) a motion urging the government to "take steps" to approve medical marijuana. And last week, the Health Minister issued guidelines for a series of medical marijuana clinical trials as well as plans to grow and import marijuana for medical purposes--after authorizing two patients to grow and possess their own pot.
