To the editor: As a landlord, I want to clarify the "no smoking" policy in my tenants' lease because Alaska voters recently legalized marijuana.

One concern of mine has always been the wall-yellowing nicotine damage and odor caused by tobacco smoke. Cannabis smoke doesn't seem to cause this damage.

As a private property owner, I make the rules, but I don't see how cannabis consumed in edibles or smoked in moderation has any negative effect on the property value.
