Unlike get-rich-quick schemes promoted by some direct-selling firms, members of this marketing plan are only likely to end up in agony or even dead. BENTONG: Rat poison is being added to locally produced Ecstasy pills to give a bigger kick to techno music-crazed pill poppers. MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik said police told him that analysis of the pills showed that some contained highly toxic rat poison. "Ecstasy pills are getting more and more contaminated while the price is going down quickly to lure more victims. KUALA LUMPUR: The Government wants to find a means to confirm a suspected Ecstasy pill user on the spot, in a manner similar to the breathalyser test to detect drunk drivers. At present, Ecstasy pill users are detected through urine tests, and a device which can give instant results is being sought. The Health, Transport and Home ministries will jointly study the proposal by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik. KUALA LUMPUR: The MCA has set up a committee to tackle rising social-ills among youths, particularly drug abuse. Committee chairman Datuk Chor Chee Heung said the problems included taking Ecstasy pills and gambling. He said a recommendation would be submitted to the party for consideration in four months' time. Chor, who is Deputy Home Minister, said it would take a hands-on approach to get to the root of the problems.
