The subject of the editorial "Policing for profit is a growing problem" (April 5) walks all over the Fourth and Fifth amendments of the Bill of Rights. Anecdotal stories smack of a police-state mentality where department profit-and-loss takes precedence over protections guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
