If ever there was a criminal conviction that deserved an immediate federal government pardon, the case of Kim Walker in Yorkton, Sask., is it.

I know he killed another human being. But, in the damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't situation he found his daughter Jadah, involved in -- Walker did the right thing.

Many armchair judges would say otherwise. However, in the real world of drug dealers, addicts and an impotent justice system, families are left with few options to protect loved ones.
