I've lived in a nice residential subdivision in the central part of Trinity County for 22 years. We've had our share of bad neighbor episodes (drunken speeders, fiery disputes about road repair, etc.) but not like what we're having now. In the last couple of years, there has been an influx of marijuana growers into our subdivision. One of the growers has put up multiple greenhouses on his two-acre parcel in addition to his one-acre outdoor marijuana garden. [continues 1284 words]
In regard to legalizing marijuana, I must plead for the sake of children. Kindly do not do it. You talk about second-hand smoke, but consider the consequences of second-hand smoke from marijuana. Think of the teenagers who could have their developing minds and bodies destroyed from access to marijuana. Cigarettes and alcohol are problem enough, but adding marijuana to the equation could be devastating. Let California be a strong leader in a good way for our nation, and seriously look at the potential troubles in years and generations to come. Evelyn Ward Santa Maria [end]
