Controversial decisions such as a couple made lately should serve to raise some eyebrows.

Decriminalization of marijuana and an attempt to prevent any expansion of tanker traffic along the coast are nothing more than suggestions.

Marijuana is illegal according to Canadian federal law, and attempting to stop or obstruct a neighbouring province's exports will be struck down as unconstitutional, no doubt.

The federation could not function at all if junior governments could disrupt trade and commerce.
