The Woods County Sheriff's Department plans to purchase a drug dog to be used in the continuing fight against illegal drugs in the county. Funds for the purchase of a dog will come from the Sheriff's Service Fee account. However, for liability purposes, the Woods County Commissioners were asked to approve putting the dog on the county's insurance policy. County Clerk Pam Small explained that the dog will be covered in the same way as the sheriff's vehicles. It will not result in any increase in insurance premiums.
