The death toll rose for the ninth straight year, and the total of 281 deaths was triple the number killed by heroin in 2010. Gangs are on the rise in Sheboygan. Though the groups are less visible and the members less violent than their big-city counterparts, Sheboygan gang-bangers are nevertheless a growing threat that police say now number 1,000 members strong. "Over the last two years we've seen a very large spike in the gangs showing up in Sheboygan -- the number of gangs (is) significantly rising," said Officer Paul Olsen of the Sheboygan Police Department's Street Crimes Unit. "Hopefully we can get a handle on it and prevent it from getting worse. SHEBOYGAN - The Sheboygan County district attorney says a Sheboygan teen is learning the hard way that posting pictures of your potted marijuana plants on MySpace.com is a bad idea. That picture, labeled, "My Mary Jane thats growin in my closet right now," also gave police a road map to the alleged stash.
