I read recent letters about drug testing in schools. I have been substitute teaching in this area for 36 years and do not think students are harmed by drug tests. If they don't have a drug problem, there is no damage. When school officials started doing locker checks, students said their privacy was being invaded. But the checks still go on and no one has a problem if there's nothing to hide. Teenagers will be going out into this world, and increasing numbers of businesses and companies have spot drug tests. So why shouldn't students be able to handle it now? Look at all the professional athletes who have to live with such testing. Those who have no problems will survive. Indian Harbour Beach [end]
