All of the back and forth on the legalization of marijuana gives me acute moral malaise. I am quite OK with medical marijuana for the severely ill.

But there is no doubt the enhanced THC - the active ingredient - of today's pot makes it addictive for many. Yes, alcohol has that capability, too. But are people smoking pot for its fine, cask-aged qualities? They are smoking it to get high. I just can't think legalization will helps matters.
