EIGHT MEN APPEAR IN COURT IN MARIJUANA GROW-OP CASE

Eight of the nine men charged in what's been billed as Canada's
biggest hydroponic-marijuana seizure appeared briefly in court
yesterday. Freed on bail last month, they left clutching boxes of
Crown evidence, which defence lawyer Randall Barrs said later is only
half of what's expected.

Mr. Barrs's ninth client, 60-year-old Michael DiCicco, is recovering
from surgery after a heart attack while in custody. The raid Jan. 10
on the former Molson brewery in Barrie yielded a crop estimated to be
worth up to $30-million. The case was put over until March 24.
