RELATIVELY ROUTINE

Langley RCMP's Green Team busted two marijuana grow operations Wednesday as
part of Operation Green Sweep, a national assault on pot grow-ops.

Langley police executed two search warrants, one in a Walnut Grove home
where officers dismantled $68,000 worth of marijuana and $6,000 worth of
equipment. The other raid was on an Aldergrove home, where $150,000 worth
of pot and $8,000 worth of equipment was discovered.

Both operations were considered "very sophisticated" by police.

Two adults and one teenager were arrested in relation to the Walnut Grove
grow-op. They face charges in relations to the grow-op and theft of hydro.
One man was arrested and will face charges relating to the Aldergrove bust
and theft of hydro.

"This was part of a relatively routine day for Langley's Green Team," said
Cpl. Garry Begg. "In fact, the Green Team is overwhelmed by the amount of
work we have. We have information on many grow-ops but we're limited by
manpower.

"We are as busy as we can be," Begg added.

The Operation Green Sweep yielded at least 130 arrests and nearly 300
charges across Canada.
