POLICE RAID ORCHID GROW-OP
City police had red faces recently when they raided a northwest home they
believed to be housing a marijuana grow operation.
Using a battering ram to force entry through the front door of the home a
few days ago, officers found perfectly legal orchids growing inside instead
of marijuana plants, reports CFCN.
Police refused to comment about the incident on Monday.
Stephen Jenuth, president of the Alberta Civil Liberties Association, said
it highlights the need for police and judges to issue search warrants with
greater caution, told CFCN.
The police service said it will repair any damage, CFCN said.
