MEDIA OFFERS BIASED COVERAGE

Dear Editor:

Interlake Spectator -- Re: Election Ruined By Biased Media

Well, 5,370,903 backwards-thinking Canadians were dumb enough to vote
for an ultra-right-wing, Christian-fundamentalist, Neo-Con government.
That's about a third of eligible voters, and barely one in six Canadians.

Probably a third of them voted `against the Liberals', rather than
`for the conservatives', so that is maybe 3,500,000 people who
actually wanted these creepy Tories in power. Meanwhile, 9,444,777
voted against The Conservatives!

Obviously, this is not a democracy.

The biggest blame for this mess goes to the media in this country.
Their overblown reporting of the Sponsorship Scandal, their puffing up
of the same-sex marriage issue, their refusal to let the Green Party
into the leadership debates, and their exaggeration of the
gun-violence statistics have robbed Canadians of the ability to make
informed decisions and guided the election results.

We have had to listen to eight weeks on balderdash, then choose a
leader? It is obscene!

Not to mention the fact that if the media had ever reported honestly
and factually about the connection between marijuana prohibition and
gun-violence, the results of this election would have been much different.

A truly disgusting railroading of democracy.
