The production of marijuana resin is achieved by the soaking marijuana in an organic solvent. The solvents tend to be extremely explosive and possess a low flash point in regard to fires. Fires or explosions can occur during the final stages of production when heat is applied. Police say his process has been the direct result of extensive property damage and even death within South-Western Ontario over the years. Often the only clue a person may have that this type of "drug lab" is occurring is from the strong odour of solvents and marihuana. The Drug Enforcement Section is looking for the public's assistance.
