He lost a lot of weight and finally said, 8CI've got no choice.' It's out of desperation.' The pot crusader, who has multiple sclerosis and says he requires marijuana on a daily basis, was arrested a week ago and charged with cultivation of a narcotic and possession for the purpose of trafficking after police discovered 29 plants in his home on Bowness Road N.W. Provincial court Assistant Chief Judge Brian Stevenson denied Krieger's release last Friday when the marijuana advocate refused to stop growing and supplying marijuana to other ill people through his Universal Compassion Club. Iovinelli said his client, who walked on his own when he went into jail but now uses a wheelchair, will be at Court of Queen's Bench next Wednesday to ask the court to reconsider his release. `He has agreed not to participate in the Compassion Club,' said Iovinelli. `But he has not agreed to not use marijuana himself. He still needs it.' - --- MAP posted-by: Derek Rea
