Major thanks and massive kudos belong to Dan Linn who organizes this important project. He is also the Executive Director of Illinois NORML. He not only took the reins from, and in loving memory of, Derek Rea but also joined our dedicated team of MAP Editors.

EVERY week Mr. Linn reads EVERY PUB LTE in our archives. PUB LTE (Published Letters to the Editor) are letters which clearly advocate changing our current drug policies. Mr. Linn selects the 5 PUB LTEs which best meet the following criteria:

• Primary consideration is the content of the LTE - that is how well it delivers a message.
• How well the LTE exemplifies the recommendations for LTE writing in the Style Guides at http://www.mapinc.org/resource/#guides
• A well written letter printed in a local weekly newspaper is given equal consideration against one printed in USA Today.

EVERY week Mr. Linn sends the Top 5 to several volunteers who review each PUB LTE and vote for the letter which they think best meets the criteria. He tallies these votes, enters the selected LTE into our database and submits it to our DSW Editor, Stephen Young.
