LESSON 3 Article Appearance
- The purpose of this lesson is to discuss the appearance of the outgoing article.
- a. Removing Carriage Returns
- Paragraphs of the outgoing article must be stripped of carriage returns and
separated by a blank line.
Experienced newshawks will have already inserted the blank
lines between paragraphs. If this has not been done, you should insert them.
b. Capitalization
- Title in Subject line - The title in the subject line of the outgoing message
should have the first letter of each word capitalized.
- ex. Allen Vows To Get Tough On Drugs As U.S. Senator
- Title in article body - The title in the article body should be capitalized.
- ex. ALLEN VOWS TO GET TOUGH ON DRUGS AS U.S. SENATOR
- Sub-titles - Sub-titles should have the first letter of each word capitalized.
- Added text & such - Newshawk signatures and all other extraneous text should be
removed.
