MAP Editor in Training (EIT) MAP
LESSON 4 MAP Staff Mailing List

a. Lesson Status

Congratulations, you have made it through the first 3 lessons! All MAP editors realize that this is a lot of information to absorb and appreciate the effort which has gotten you this far. At this point you are closer to the end than the beginning. The closer to the end that you get, the closer you are to pitching in.

b. MAP Staff Mailing List purpose
The MAP Staff mailing list allows all MAP editors to keep in touch with each other. Whenever any editor has a question about an article, they post it to the Staff mailing list. An answer from another editor will usually appear within hours, but, at times within minutes!

c. Join MAP Staff Mailing List

Our Staff Mailing list is a closed mailing list. This means people can only join after they have been approved by our Senior Editor.

Please send a message to chief@mapinc.org or jo-d@mapinc.org and ask to be added to the Staff mailing list now. Within 24 hours, you should receive a note letting you know that you have been approved and may begin sending messages to the list, stafftalk@mapinc.org.

The lab for this lesson is optional. The lab shows you how to modify Eudora so that many of the MAP processing tasks are automated. Some of our current editors use them, some of them don't. If you're one of those folks who feels a bit intimidated at moving files around - you should prolly move on to the next lesson as you will still be able to format articles appropriately. Plus, you can always come back to this lab when you feel more comfortable with all the other stuff we've thrown towards you. BUT, if you are one of those folks who just can't stand extra keystrokes - THIS is the lab for you.
